-Veiled Tenno Sanctuary on Lua, Barracks-
<4/5 DR,
16:15>
~For the first time in ages, the Veiled Tenno's
sanctuary was abuzz with activity. The excited chatter of many voices
emanated from the common room, the sounds of production boomed from
within the foundry as MOAs and Specters were fabricated, and, somewhat
more quietly, an occasional mad giggle could be heard, floating out from
the open door to the bio lab. The mild cacophony drifted into the
barracks, then into the ears of a lone Tenno lying down on one of the
many beds, his sea-green eyes staring absently at the ceiling.~
Everyone was preparing. War was coming, and everyone there knew it.
It was only a matter of time before the Remnant struck the first
blow against the Grineer forces of Earth. Then... Muro sat up from his
bed. He wasn't the kind to stress about things outside matters of
the immediate future, but something was eating at him. Something that
started as a simple, two-word question by his own cephalon when they
were talking about the Remnant's larger scheme. "Then
what?" No matter how hard he thought about it, any next step he
could dream up only yielded more questions. He swung himself out of bed,
his brow furrowed in frustration. He may not have the answers, but he
knew someone who would. Facing no one in particular, he spoke to the
seemingly empty room.
"Hey Sophanya, could you tell me where Mata is right
now? I'd like to talk with him."(edited)
Sophanya:
"Mata is currently in the kitchen preparing food.
Should I ask him to prepare you some as well?"
her voice is quiet and gentle, but distorted with the typical Cephalon
buzz
June 21, 2018
Muro:
"No, thank you, just let him know that I'm heading
his way, if you would."
Muro sauntered towards the open door before heading down the hallway.
On any other day, he would have stuck his head in the lab to say hi to
Kapak, but he wasn't in the mood today. He entered the lounge space
quietly, trying to avoid talking with any of the other Tenno that were
hanging around. Fortunately for him, his true form was quite a bit
smaller and less conspicuous than his Hydroid, allowing him to sneak
around the far end of the room without drawing much attention to
himself. Upon arriving in the kitchen proper, He noticed Mata standing
at one of the counters, preparing some small confection. Although he was
sure Mata heard him approach, he tried to make his presence known.
Clearing his throat, he spoke quietly, his tone lacking his normal
exuberance.
"Hey Boss, got a minute?"(edited)
Mataeru:
He looks up and offers a slight smile
"Hello Muro. I have time, yes. What is on your
mind?"
He gently runs the knife he's holding through a fresh cut of
Sharrack meat, laying it out on some seaweed with rice grains
"Would you like something to eat as well?"
June 28, 2018
Muro:
Muro shuffled awkwardly before shaking his head.
"No, thanks Boss, but I'll pass." He briefly looked over his shoulder, noting the congregation of other
Tenno.
"I'm sorry to interrupt your meal, but If you don't
mind, can we take this elsewhere? I don't want to talk here." Muro motioned subtly towards the door leading further into the
sanctuary.
Mataeru:
He looks up at Muro a and picks up the plate of food, opening the
fridge and sliding it inside
"Completely out of earshot? Or just not in this
room?"
He turns around and leans forward on the counter
June 29, 2018
Muro:
"Both. Follow me, if you would." Muro turns and walks out of the room, pausing in the doorway to wait
for Mata to follow.
Mataeru:
He saunters up to Muro quickly and whispers
"It may be best to take an orbiter or leavee Sanctuary
altogether. However, an orbiter would be less consipcuous if we both
took Warframes."
Muro:
Muro chuckled under his breath. "About as inconspicuous as the Boss just up and leaving the
Lua? Nah, I don't think that's necessary." Muro paused, as an idea occurred to him. "Actually, I think I know just the place, and it isn't
that far either. Let's go." Muro turned away from the door and walked across the lounge, heading
instead for the tunnel exit to Lua. Feeling the eyes of the other
assembled Tenno upon him, he turned around, putting on his usual
face. "Hey guys, Mata and I are heading out to check on Veiled
Tenno Pods, be back later!" His eyes flicker over to Mata, silently pleading with him to play
along.(edited)
Mataeru:
He nods in agreement
"One of my external radars in that area has shut down
creating a blind spot in our defense. We will return shortly."
He falls into step besides Muro, summoning his Ash as the door to to
the rest of the derelict moon begins to open
July 10, 2018
~With their excuses given, the pair exited the base through the now
open door, stepping out into a ruined hallway within the Lua
superstructure.~
Muro:
*Once clear of the doorway, Muro
took a few steps towards their intended destination before pausing. He
doubted that any trouble would show itself during their talk, but it was
probably wise to prepare himself for any possible incident. He turned a
round to face Mata. "Hey," he began, slightly embarrased.
"You mind if we head up to the surface for a bit? I need to pick
something up.
~After a brief climb through some hidden
passageways in the larger structure, the pair emerged onto the desolate
surface of Lua, its stark landscape completely concealing parts of the
complex structure that lay beneath.~
Muro:
After scanning the horizon for a brief moment, Muro nodded once. Here
would work. He brought his hand up to his left ear, lightly tapping an
earpiece with his index finger, before speaking.
"Aurelia, could you drop my Atlas frame outside the access
tunnel to the Sanctuary? I left my Hydroid on the Liset." After a brief pause, a fussy, rather exasperated voice could just
barely be heard by Mata, though the sound absolutely filled Muro's
ear.
Aurelia:
"Done, Operator. It will be
there in a moment." Her voice conveyed notes of mild irritation at
his request. "I swear, would it absolutely decimate you to keep
track of your things darling? Elite Tenno operative, my non-existent
foot!" Muro chuckled a little, spotting the outline of a small capsule
plummeting through the sky, no doubt carrying the frame he asked for
before it crashed a few feet away from their position.(edited)
Muro:
"I know, I know, I'm sorry. Thanks for taking care
of that. I'll leave you alone for a while." *With a final,
rather haughty grunt, the voice disappeared from the comm. Muro lowered
his hand and started walking up to the now landed capsule, which opened
to reveal Muro's Atlas. A tall, slate-grey colored creation, This
Atlas was not used terribly often by Muro, as it lacked the support
qualities that his role frequently required. Nonetheless, it was a very
useful frame to have for situations in which he would be fighting alone,
or where a more... direct approach was necessary. With a slight
flourish, Muro transferred into the frame and stepped away from the
capsule, stretching the Warframe's slightly stiffed limbs to get the
metaphorical cobwebs out. Turning his gaze back towards Mata, he clapped
his hands together once, as Mata had observed the whole exchange rather
quietly. "Right! Let's continue!"
July 11, 2018
Mataeru:
He follows Muro in silence and watches the exchange of Warframes. Had
he been there, his left eyebrow would have been raised for teh duration
of the exchange between Muro and his Cephalon
"So, you decided to abandon healing me if we get into a
fight? I suppose I shall have to work extra hard to avoid taking
damage..."
the teasing tone in Mata's voice is evident as the Ash stretches
it's arms
"Tell me, Muro, what matter of importance has come up that
would require us to leave Sanctuary? Treason among the Veiled Tenno
ranks? a potential double agent for the Lotus?"
He chuckles softly
Muro:
Muro couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "Trust me Boss, if something comes after the two of us now,
they wouldn't have time to hurt you." *At the very least, Muro
was happy that Mata was able to keep such a sense of humor. "No no,
nothing like that." He said, waving his hand dismissively. "I'll explain in a moment, but I don't think here is
the best place for conversation either. Come on." The Atlas strode past Mata, heading back down the access hatch
and into the abandoned hallway.
~The pair continued down the the familiar pathway to the
resting chamber of the rest of Remnant without incident, as it seemed
the earlier actions of the combat squads had driven off any Grineer,
Corpus, or even Tenno squads for the time being. Finally arriving, the
two entered the deathly silent chamber.~
Muro:
It hadn't been that long since he himself had been contained here,
but it had felt like ages since he had climbed out of his own pod.
Looking around, he picked out the few pods that hung open, compared to
the many more that were still sealed. It worried him, to be truthful.
They were his friends, family even, and he had no idea when they would
awaken, if they ever would. He strode over to his own pod, before
transferring out of his Warframe and leaning against the side of the
pod, staring intently at Mata.
"Boss, I need you to answer something for me. What exactly
is our plan? I'm not talking about taking Tower, I get that much,
but what comes after that? We take over the entire system?"
Mataeru:
He too transfers out of his Warframe and leans against one of the
unopened pods nearby
"Slowly, yes. Planet by planet. As we go, we will be
systematically purging the hostile forces from each, while providing
sanctuary to those who choose not to fight. The goal is to create places
like Cetus all over each planet, and as our numbers grow, we will assign
each location Tenno protectors."
He pauses and wipes a stray strand of hair from his eyes before
continuing
"I have given a significant amount of thought to the
kind of government system that would be the best for each, and rather
than put a Tenno in charge, I believe that some form of constitutional
meritocracy may be the best... But I still unsure for now."
He looks at Muro
"The ultimate goal is to unite the Origin System under an
umbrella of true peace. The Orokin ruled by force of will, but people
need more benevolence in their leadership, especially now. The
infestation hangs just around the corner everywhere, and the Sentients
could return at any time. If we are forced to divide out attention
between the Corpus and Grineer forces, the Sentients could very well
gain a significant upper hand and do irreparable da!age to the system.
Therefore, I hope we are able to liberate and unit at least some planets
in this system before something like that happens."
July 12, 2018
Muro:
It had been the first time he had heard the plan laid bare like this,
and he had to admit: it wasn't quite as fleshed out as he had hoped.
A strategist he was not, even he could tell something about this
wasn't quite right. Muro closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, trying
to gather his thoughts. When his eyes opened, their sea-green gaze
locked onto Mata, all sense of humor gone from his
appearance.
"Boss, before I say anything, know this: I respect you
immensely, both as a warrior and as a leader, and I will gladly follow
you to the end of this mission, if you really think this is the best way
to go about things." Muro sighed, as he usually wasn't a fan of such heavy
conversation. "That aside, is such a peace really the best thing for our
family, as it is now? With your plan, you would have everyone here
endanger themselves, fighting billions of foes on all sides in what
would probably be an near endless war. Even if we managed to win, did
you even think of how many of us could die in the process? What
guarantee would we have that those sacrifices would mean anything?" His hands clenched into fists and began to shake, though more out
of sorrow than anger. "Every single one of us has already lost a family once. Why
would you ask us to risk going through it all again?"(edited)
July 13, 2018
Mataeru:
He chuckles and crosses his arms
"Muro, have you forgotten what we, the Veiled Tenno were
trained for? We trained specifcally to hunt other Tenno in addition to
normal combat training. While the prospect of facing enemies that
numerous is daunting, I have plans to help lower the number of enemies
we have to fight at any given battle."
He pauses for a moment and grows more serious, preparing his real
answer, looking up at the stars
"But I do understand your concerns about our potential
losses, and I have weighed them..." He sighs as the next few words escape his Ash's vocal emitter "And after we take Earth from the Grineer, I will give those
who do not wish to fight with me their freedom to leave, with a warning.
But that is something to be discussed another day."
The Ash looks at Muro directly before freezing as he steps forward out
of it
"Think about it Muro. Ever since the Zariman, we have been
fighting. Constantly. Every new day bringing with it the potential of a
new battle to be fought to protect that which we care about. Innocent
people, like us, lost so much because of a war created by the greed of
rulers past. The galaxy is still suffering from the consequences of the Old War and the
Executors' greed. If the conflict is not stopped, the galaxy will be
destroyed in one of many different ways, be it the war between the
Corpus, Grineer and Lotus, the infestation finally breaking its
restraints, or the Sentients returning."
[1/x]
"If fighting to end a war that preys on the innocent, and deprives
everyone peace of mind and truly living, is not a worthy cause to die
for, then I do not know what is. I will not ask any of you to go with me
farther than Earth, but I will continue on this conquest until I die, or
achieve lasting peace."
The red glow of his eyes dims gently as he clasps his hands behind his
back
"We lost family to restore the Orokin's superiority to
the system. But now, if we lose family, it will be so that others do not
suffer in the same way we have."

July 15, 2018
Muro:
"Yes Mata. Conflict. Killing! that is what we were made
for!" Muro spread his arms wide, gesturing to the still sleeping Tenno around
them. "That is what we were all made for!" He was almost shouting now, not at all understanding what Mata found
humorous about this scenario. "Look around you! Every single person here has the blood of
thousands on their hands, maybe more! We aren't heroes, for
void's sake! What place could we possibly have in a peaceful
world?" Muro paced back and forth across the room, the mental floodgates
within him now broken.
"Mata, no one else in this system would be able to
suffer as we have. Think about it: the Orokin are dead, except for that
damnable Grineer queen and some others that might be hiding. They're
in no position to do those terrible things anymore." Muro's voice quieted now, his indignation returning to a low
simmer.
"You're right about one thing Mata: All we've
ever done is fight other people's battles. I'm not sure about
you, but I'm tired of it. If I'm fighting for any reason, its to
protect the family I have left, and maybe the Tenno that still follow
the Lotus as well. That's all." Muro stood still for a moment, his eyes gazing blankly in front of him
for a moment before breaking into a small laugh.
"Let me ask you something boss: Even if we managed to
get the entire system under our thumb, would that end suffering? Greed?
Arrogance? How could we ensure that everyone gets to 'truly
live'?"
July 16, 2018
Mataeru:
He raises an eyebrow at Muro's outburst, listening calmly until
Muro finishes
"While it is true that no one else in the system could
suffer as we have, and while it is also true that the Orokin will never
be able to rebuild their lost empire."
he pauses for a moment carefully choosing his words
I do not know what you chose to fight for when we were serving
the Orokin. I do not know if you chose to view your servitude as working
for a great evil, or something else, but I chose to view my work, my
killing, as efforts to protect those who cannot protect themselves. The
people who did not support the corrupt rule of the Orokin. I fought and
I killed with the hopes that no more children would be forced to partake
of the same fate all of us were forced to."
he sighs quietly
"The Orokin are not capable of the same evil as before, but
they are still capable of great evils. Alad V, the Grineer Queens. They
are all in positions of great power. Look at what the Queens are doing
with the Grineer, or what Alad is doing to Warframes with Zanuka. If
someone does not rise up and stop them once and for all... I fear what
may become of the future..."
[1/x]
his glowing red eyes lock their gaze on Muro's cyan (?) eyes
"I too am tired of fighting, but I am also tired of
watching, listening, to it all. I fight not because I believe I believe
I could fit in to a peaceful world, but because I want that for others.
I want to be able to wake up in the morning and not have to worry about
how many people have lost their lives for meaningless reasons. I am
fighting not for the heroics, or for fame, but because I am tired of the
fighting, and wish to see it end."
He steps forward, closing the distance between them and crosses his
arms
"After we take Earth from the Grineer, I will give everyone
here the option to leave. If you wish to lay down arms and leave the
galaxy in teh hands of others, that is up to you. I will not judge you
for that."
he sighs again and lets his hands fall to his sides
"I cannot predict the future. However, the people who live
in this world have seen what greed and arrogance create. I have good
reason to beleive that they will not make the same errors of the present
for at least a few generations. However, without the threat of the
Corpus and Grineer, people would have a better chance of living than
they do now. And I believe that is worth fighting for."

Muro:
Muro inhaled deeply, trying to maintain whatever composure he had left.
Walking back towards his old pod, holding his breath for a moment before
exhaling with a slight shudder. As Mata finished speaking, Muro took his
turn, his voice straining through clenched teeth.
"You want to know why I served the Orokin, why I
fought and killed so many people? I did it because I knew I didn't
have a choice. I did it because it was it was the only thing I
knew." His voice picked up in pitch, clearly agitated. "I'm not like you and the others Mata. I don't
remember anything clearly before Ballas took me for his project. All I
have are memories of Margulis, the only Orokin who gave a damn about any
of us, and Ballas, with that smug, pompous look on his face, watching
while his cronies drove from me any scraps of a childhood I had left,
just so he could have his weapon." He sat himself on the edge of his pod slowly, while casting his gaze
towards the floor.
"The only good thing that came from that nightmare was
you. All of the Veiled Tenno. For the first time that I could remember,
I didn't feel completely alone." He lifted his head again, once again looking Mata square in the
face. "I decided back then that that would be what I'd fight
for. I would gladly take on whatever job they asked of me, if it meant
keeping those that mattered to me safe." Sighing deeply, Muro decided to change the topic.
"Boss, I agree with you that those scum need to be stopped, and I
would gladly help you slay them. So why not take them out first?
We're not an army Boss, we're a ragtag group of assassins, at
best. Wouldn't make sense to act like it? Take out the heads, in
order to break up the forces they command?" He paused for a moment, hoping that his suggestion would take root,
before drawing himself up to his full, diminutive height. "You're wrong about me, Boss. I'm not tired of
fighting, just fighting other people's battles FOR them. My job is
to keep my family alive, always has been. If you're not stopping at
Earth, I'm not either. I may not agree with you on your plan, but
for now, that doesn't matter. The way you're planning on doing
things, you're going to need me around." He placed a hand on Mata's shoulder, his face grim, yet somehow
hopeful.
"Just promise me one thing: if the day comes that you
have to choose between your dream and your family, make sure you make
the right call. Please." As he said this, Muro's grip on Mata's shoulder tightened, if
slightly. There was a certain desperation at the very edge of his voice,
as if he could see something in his own mind, something that terrified
him.

Mataeru:
*Muro's explanation of his reasons for serving the
Orokin struck true with another unspoken reason Mata worked for them as
well, and he nods in agreement and *
"Though we expressed it
in different words we both worked for the same goal while under the
Orokin."
Mata looks into Muro's eyes again at the mention of making a choice
between dreams and family
"You do not have to worry about me choosing a dream over
those close to me. I was powerless to protect my sister and my best
friend on board that cursed vessel, and I will not repeat the mistakes
of my past."
After a moment, his gaze softens and a sly smile creeps across his
face
"In regard to your tactical suggestion, you have already
addressed my strategy for our assault on the Grineer after acquire
the Tower."
His grin widens
"We will not be merely cutting off the heads, we will be
removing the heart and lungs as well. The first step we will be taking
is to I filtrate the Kuva Fortress' data vaults to seize all the
genetic material, blueprints, and everything connected to the cloning of
their critical leaders After that, we will lock down the Solar Rails to
Earth and send sabotage teams to destroy the Grineer vessels orbiting
the planet and all of the Grineer cloning and weapons production
facilities on the planet simultaneously. Once they have no way to
replenish their numbers and weapons, we will eliminate Vay Hek once and
for all."
his arms and drums his fingers on his biceps before continuing
"The only unknown variable here is the Tenno who will
undoubtedly be trapped in orbit with us. I plan to release a
transmission in Tenno frequencies to let them know what is happening,
but we should be prepared to fight them as well. However, I suspect man
of them will be more than happy to lend a hand in exterminating the
remaining forces on the planet after kill Hek."
August 19, 2018
Muro:
* He stood there and absorbed all that Mata told him, his
brow creasing with worry as he eased his grip. The plan sounded
simple enough, the way he described it, but Muro knew well enough that
simple almost never meant easy. The idea of killing Vay Hek
especially caught Muro's attention. He knew he had heard that name
before. If he remembered rightly, that was the blowhard that controlled
Grineer forces on earth. Ugly, even by the already low standards of
Grineer. Still, killing him, while helpful to their cause, would have
serious consequences. All that aside, Mata's story about his
lost friends struck a chord with him. Muro had never heard that tale
before, 'Probably for a good reason.' He thought to himself. He
knew full well that his leader had a tendency for getting a little
carried away with his plans and ambitions, but with those memories as an
anchor, maybe things would turn out alright after all. Taking a
step back, he shook his head.*
"I don't think the
other Tenno would attack us. It wouldn't make any sense. As you
said, most of them probably want him dead as badly as we do. If I had to
guess, they'd probably just be mad that they're stuck on Earth
for a while." Muro shrugged. "Here's hoping they just stay out of our way, or better
yet, they can turn that anger on the other Grineer." His doubts still nagged him, but this was enough. For now, at least.
Muro strode back to his frame and transferred back inside.
"Right Boss, we should probably get going. We stay out
here any longer and the others just might get bored enough to come
looking for us." He chuckled a bit, crossing his arms in the process. As his laughter
subsided, he spoke earnestly once again. "Boss... Mata. Thanks. I needed this."
Mataeru:
He nods
"I certainly hope the Tenno would be in an agreeable mood
after we kill Hek... As for the others, I doubt they'd be that inclined to come look for us until a several hours
passed..."
He starts moving to the door
"Do you have any more questions? We have a few minutes
before we get back to Sanctuary."
September 14, 2018
Muro:
Muro followed Mata to the door, pondering as his Atlas frame took long
strides across the chamber floor. There were so many things he wanted to
say, but he knew now wasn't a good time for it.
"No, I think we've dealt with most of my problems.
I'll just have to think on the rest of them myself for now." *
He reached upward, stretching for a moment before placing his hands
behind his head.* "Besides, I've kept you tied up for long
enough as it is. After all, you've got a mission to plan out,
right?"
Mataeru:
He nods
"Indeed. If you need anything, you know where to find
me."
