PHANTOM RISING [RP] / main-story-05
Disruptis - Disruptis 22-Mar-22 04:19 PM
[AR 1/5/4] CLOSED RP @Max | Dominus @Chegar @Isa Tekchen @Muro - Deep Sea Phantom Lab, Uranus "From brooding gulfs are we beheld by that which bears no name. Its heralds are the stars it fells, the sky and earth aflame." - [LOHK]
~The lower levels of the undersea lab were heavily damaged. The group of Tenno trudged through flooding corridors bathed in blood red light, failing infrastructure, and stripped machines. The rest of the floor consisted of large sweeping reactor sections and power generation utilities. This seemed to be what was keeping the lower sections of the base powered, and most of it was trashed. The corpses of Grineer researchers and their hybrid abominations alike lay strewn across the walkways, betraying many signs of battle and struggle. They descended deeper, until it became apparent that most of the sentients had been stored in large containment chambers in the lowest level of the facility. Even keeping an eye out for mimics uncovered no further enemies however. It seemed they had all pooled their numbers for that final push. Eventually the group made their way to the deep-sea deployment stations.~ Disruptis: A black and yellow limbo stalked across the emptied catwalks and looked up at the undersea vessels the Grineer used to traverse. "Okay, small problem guys," he announced. He pointed a finger to the sizeable holes in each vessel. They were torn open like a peeled orange, and through them one could make out some lightly gutted interiors. "Our tickets down that trench were sabo'd. Anyone else good with mechanics or got better ideas?"
EscortAlpha - Chegar & Svytoj 23-Mar-22 12:59 AM
CHEGAR Following close behind, a dark gray Vauban with Green trim. He looked up, quickly trying to make sense of the damage from his current position. It looked bad, but he'd need a closer look to be sure. "My first bet is to go the mechanics route: Even the most sophisticated Grineer machine is as simple as a rock and just as stubborn." He said, trying to mull over various wiring schema and engineering diagrams he had seen from missions past. "That said, if our 'frames could survive the pressure, we could retrofit our archwings with extra life-support systems from what we can find here, and cross our fingers. Anyone else?" He asked, looking to the rest of the group for input.
Kelimnac - Dominus 24-Mar-22 12:51 PM
DOMINUS "I'm inclined to agree. Even the sturdiest Grineer vessel isn't worth much if it has a gaping hole in the side. If we could weld it shut there's a chance it might hold, but I don't think it would survive a return trip. The archwings are a safer bet. Between their generators and our own frames' power supplies, there should be enough to resist the depths. Not that I'm particularly thrilled about deep sea diving, mind you." The Excalibur neglected to remark that his Cephalon hated when he used the Odonata onboard, but his cybernetic assistant's worries over his safety were secondary at best to the mission. Easier to beg forgiveness than permission, and all.
Nor_Urzak - Muro/Aurelia 24-Mar-22 03:24 PM
Muro: "Pretty sure I'd be fine out there, Archwing or not, but I'm betting getting these hunks of junk working again would take time we don't have." The Hydroid strode into the room after the previous three looking over the wrecks with visible disdain. "You sure there isn't a way to shut this Sentient mother down from up here Dis? Some power supply we can cut off? I'd bet the Sentients that did all this won't be able to last out there too long without some external support. Would be fun to watch 'em try and get back here before they're crushed into pulp though." (edited)
leirynot - Isa 25-Mar-22 01:56 AM
Isa: Isa strode up to the damaged pods and gave them a quick look over before shaking her head. "Not worth our time. We would be better off using archwings. More maneuverability and superior firepower."
Disruptis - Disruptis 25-Mar-22 01:45 PM
Disruptis: "Whoa whoa whoa guys, I think you're missing the point," Disruptis interjected, raising his hands defensively, "Chegar's on to the right idea. We're about to plunge down a deep trench on Uranus's floor. If the Grineer readings are correct, that thing is 20 kilometers below surface. Multiply that by Uranus's staggering 24.79 gravity and a salinity level that makes the density at least 1050 to give us a whopping 520 million pascals of pressure down there. Our warframes can take a lot of pressure, but that's at least 5 times over spec at that point. Minus our Hydroid, we'd be crushed." Wide, translucent beams of blue light flew from Disruptis's gammacor and onto the nearest Grineer sub as he walked around it. After a quick scan, he cross referenced its schematics on his local storage. "Yep, any of these things seem like they'll easily make it down there, even with a patch. Grab a wielder from their supply line and we can make it work again. We're going to need some kind of vessel to get down there." Disruptis swept the rest of the room with a look. "And multiple might be better than one. By my calculations based on what we saw in the system, we have at least 3 hours before anything terrible happens. With a 30km/h diving speed we'll make it there in 32 minutes give or take. I bet it can't take us longer than an hour to fix a few up." He looked back at Muro with a bit of a pained smile hidden behind his Limbo. "I'd love that, but it's all rigged up down there. Nothing we can do up here." (edited)
leirynot - Isa 25-Mar-22 05:56 PM
Isa "Ah right... your archwings may not survive, but I have a prototype I have been developing and I believe this would be the best opportunity to give a combat test. It includes an exosuit, which combined with the archwing's shielding should allow it to function at these depths, but I only have the one. I can modify other archwings' shields to allow them to keep the user alive for a short time, a few minutes at best before the generator burns out. They won't last for the mission but they could give us the time to repair a breach in the sub or escape back to the base if attacked before we make it too far, or finish the job if we are far enough. The biggest issue with these pods is lack of armaments. We will need to find a way to affix something to them... I also suggest towing along a few filled with as much explosive ordnance as possible."
EscortAlpha - Chegar & Svytoj 27-Mar-22 09:32 PM
CHEGAR “Hmm…” the Vauban looked between Isa and Disruptis, mulling over the details. “Let’s split the difference. Isa” Chegar began “Let’s test out your set up: see if you can get some data on the environmental hazards; anything you can report back will help us prioritize our repair efforts, and give us insight on how to calibrate our own archwings.” He turned his attention to the others. “The rest of us should focus on getting one of the subs up and running again; we determine which has the best chances of being repaired, focus on getting that one up and running, and if we have the time and resources, we get a second one up and running. What do you think, everyone?”
Kelimnac - Dominus 28-Mar-22 02:20 PM
DOMINUS "...It's missions like this that reinforce my dislike of the ocean as a whole." As Dominus investigates the submarines more closely, an idea passes over his mind, and he looks to Muro. "Hydroids are built for this kind of pressure. If we can get you as close to 100% working order as possible, both in terms of weapons and frame, you can be a hands-on option aside from the exosuit archwing." Tapping the side of his head, the Excalibur's Carrier drone floats into the middle of the pack, whirring expectantly. "Grab whatever gear or other raw materials the Grineer have lying around and feed my drone, it'll spit ammo out for your kit. We should have enough time to top off while we get these subs up and running. Any bombs or explosives it can do too, but the conversion rate isn't as high."
Nor_Urzak - Muro/Aurelia 28-Mar-22 06:02 PM
Muro: "Of course. " The Hydroid sighed. "Guess it was too much to ask for." He turned toward the others in the group. "Read my mind Dominus. No offense, but I'd sooner take my chances out there than inside one of those scrap piles." With that, Muro started pacing around the room, picking up whatever ammunition or weapons he couldn't otherwise use to feed to the drone.
Disruptis - Disruptis 29-Mar-22 10:26 PM
Disruptis: "Awesome Isa, drop that down and I'll have you calibrate my arch–" Disruptis's words faltered as his request for his archwing timed out over the course of five seconds. "....oh. Right. Interference. We're probably going to need to pop our heads back surface-side to call our wings. That's a hefty trip up, so does someone wanna volunteer to do it for us? I'll give you a temp access code to get Coal to deploy mine." The Limbo leapt up to a shelving unit mounted to the wall and pulled a cold welder off it. "In the meantime, Isa and I gotta get started on these ships. I'll fix, you mod, yeah? Chegar, come help me figure out which ones are worth our time!" He called out, dragging relevant tools to the center of the room.
Kelimnac - Dominus 02-Apr-22 06:29 AM
DOMINUS "I can move around the facility at decent speed now that I have the layout mapped. I can head up to send the proxy signals, and make my way back. This way I can scout for any potential Grineer QRFs that have made their way here too, and maybe the exercise will help replenish my energy quicker. Heh." The Excalibur would stick out its right hand, and after a moment, deploy its Parazon, flexing the fingers as the datablade gleamed. "Load me with your temporary codes, and I'll go make the call. If anyone knows any underwater access points close by to here that I could use to just float some of the way back with my Archwing, that'd be appreciated too. Otherwise this'll be a long back and forth run."
Nor_Urzak - Muro/Aurelia 02-Apr-22 06:41 AM
Muro: Muro turned toward Disruptis, slotting a few magazines into his gratakas. "Or," Muro offered, "I could go. For me it'd be a straight shot both ways. I could go find an airlock and swim up to the surface. Going up might take me a minute, but the return trip should be fast. Besides, if Grineer reinforcements have arrived, I should be able to slip right by them without wasting too much time."
leirynot - Isa 02-Apr-22 05:46 PM
Isa Isa gave a rather curt nod before she began a more detailed inspection of the subs while signaling to the MOA reinforcements not far above them in the facility to join them. "I can definitely affix something to this, we'll need to either scavenge some weapons from the Grineer or whoever is heading to the surface should bring back some heavy weapons. As for the controls... I'll need to jerry rig a way to fire the gun remotely, likely electronically using wiring scavenged from the consoles here, so get any information you need off of them."
Disruptis - Disruptis 02-Apr-22 06:55 PM
Disruptis: "Wai–" Disruptis instinctively reached a hand out to stop Muro. I just found you again and now you're leaving? He shook his head violently and retracted his arm. "You're right Muro, you would probably be the fastest to get up there and back. It would be best if you were the one to go…" Disruptis halted what he was working on for a moment. "...just… promise you'll be back?" After the exchange, he dropped a spare reinforced alloy plate in the center of the loading deck and turned to Dominus. "Wanna get started on finding weapons we can salvage? I'll send Chegar after you once we've got an idea which ship we're using." (edited)
EscortAlpha - Chegar & Svytoj 04-Apr-22 10:07 AM
CHEGAR "Right." The Vauban said, quickly extending his parazon. "Let's get started." He took a quick glance at the vehicles before him and moved to the closest one, making a bee-line towards where the controls should be. With any luck, there'd still be something he could jack in to.
Kelimnac - Dominus 04-Apr-22 10:16 AM
DOMINUS The Hydroid volunteering put pause to Dominus's chance to both relax his insufferably paranoid Cephalon's concerns topside, and still get them their equipment, but that was fine. With a thumbs up to Dis, the Excalibur would head to the various storage crates and rooms of their floor, to see if any of them were intended for combat equipment. If he couldn't find a suitable supply on their current floor, he'd start working his way back. His eyes were peeled for large weapons that could be easily rigged up to fire from inside the submarine. Grineer tech was hardly refined, so if he could just find the right guns, this would be an easy job, and they'd hit the water blasting away.
leirynot - Isa 05-Apr-22 12:19 AM
Isa Isa, meanwhile went over to the nearest control consoles and began to disassemble them, scouring them for electronic components and wiring she could use to rig up a means to fire externally-mounted weapons from within the sub. These controls would certainly be messy, but they didn't need clean at the moment, they needed functional.
Nor_Urzak - Muro/Aurelia 05-Apr-22 04:27 PM
Muro: Muro paused at Disruptis' gesture, momentarily unsure of what to make of it. "Dis, trust me. A little water isn't going to hurt me, and the last thing I'm going to let kill me are some no-name Grineer or some Sentient drones. But yeah, I'll be back." He walked towards the water's edge that led out to ocean beyond, stopping just before taking the plunge. "Hey, would you guys mind putting some grenades together for my Corinth while I'm gone?" He called to the group. "I'll look for regular ammo topside, so don't bother with that." Not wanting to waste anymore time, Muro dove into the water, his form visible for just a moment or two before vanishing into the abyss. (edited)
Disruptis - Disruptis 06-Apr-22 11:50 PM
~The group of Tenno got to work salvaging components and making preparations. Chegar and Disruptis decided on fixing three vehicles they felt they had time to patch right as Dominus entered the room hauling a crate of vehicle assembly weapons he found in a storage room.~ Disruptis: Disruptis climbed onto the least damaged submarine and lined up a weld to patch its hull. As he worked, he spoke to Isa in a somber tone. "So Isa, I… couldn't help but notice you wear your hood up. You were also wearing it up last time we met too. You don't have to answer if you really don't want to but… are you… okay under there? What's up?"
leirynot - Isa 07-Apr-22 07:00 PM
Isa Isa had already gotten a basic control surface rigged up and was currently testing it. She didn't turn to look at Disruptis as she spoke, ever focused on her work. "I received burn wounds when the tower was destroyed. They will not close and I've found wearing the hood and bandages is most comfortable."
Disruptis - Disruptis 08-Apr-22 12:05 AM
Disruptis: Disruptis finished a weld line and squatted, lethargically dropped his arms into his lap. He looked up and down them as if he could see the scars riddling his own immortal body. "I guess all we have to show for what we've done are scars, huh?" He mumbled in reply, loud enough for her to hear. (edited)
leirynot - Isa 08-Apr-22 03:08 AM
Isa "Scarring is the wrong term, as that implies it has healed." She responds. "I have attempted to heal these. Kapak even repaired them using synthetic flesh. They simply reopen after a time."
Kelimnac - Dominus 08-Apr-22 09:19 AM
DOMINUS As he set the crate of weapons down in a central spot, Dominus started unloading a few of the more choice weapons to set next to the three vehicles that had been selected. In particular, he seemed rather fond of a Grattler autocannon which took a fair amount of effort to carry into position without a gravimag, but would be an excellent short-range weapon if they got it attached. As he did all of this, he listened to the back and forth between Isa and Disruptis. "It sounds like the damage goes beyond the physical. Like the Oro itself was compromised in some way. Maybe it's something that can be fixed if you...Hm. No, I'm just thinking out loud, don't mind me."
Disruptis - Disruptis 08-Apr-22 10:45 PM
Disruptis: "You're spot on Dominus," Disruptis remarked, lining up another weld before calling back to Isa. "...that's what you needed Lekalis for, didn't you? Back on Kawamo you asked for him, but I didn't even know he was still alive. I haven't found him since, either. Not that I'm shocked. He always had this… whimsical feeling to him. As if he was with us, but striding along to some unseen tune. Did you feel that too?"
Disruptis - Disruptis 08-Apr-22 11:01 PM
~Muro bounded off the exterior of the sealab, ascending faster and faster. The oceans themselves felt like they bent around the presence of his Hydroid. It took him a combined fifteen minutes before he launched out of the water and onto the landing platform. He didn't have time to witness his carnage in the moment but now, as a heavy downpour washed away old blood and weighed his warframe down like he was still swimming, he drew in a sight of the bodies. But what surprised him was the sight of a lone Inaros hooking up the scrappy build of a frequency antenna to some wiring in the main entrance. The ship Muro destroyed at the beginning of his crusade looked pulled apart, as well as a new one jammed into the front of the entranceway. Lupin said he was jumping off-planet to grab some backup and should've been gone by now, yet here he was.~
leirynot - Isa 08-Apr-22 11:11 PM
Isa "Yes. He was the one I knew with the most experience in such matters. He disappeared after I accidentally set him on fire." She answered. "As for feeling him... no. But I don't tend to be sensitive to such things." She gestured for Dominus to start connecting the grattler to the makeshift mount she had mounted on the sub.
Nor_Urzak - Muro/Aurelia 09-Apr-22 03:21 PM
Muro: Under other circumstances, Muro might have taken the opportunity to admire his handiwork. But the presence of this relative unknown was pulling his full attention right now. What was he still doing here? He stepped carefully towards the Inaros, his footfalls drowned out by the pounding rain. With one hand floating of the handle of his Grataka, he called out to the Warframe. "Hey." He called over local comms. "Having trouble?"
Disruptis - Disruptis 09-Apr-22 10:50 PM
Disruptis: "Yeah, I get it," Disruptis responded, lowering his gaze. He finished his first patch when a thought occurred to him. The eyes behind his warframe shot up with light. "Wait… Muro's alive now. Muro is one of if not the best Tenno medic sucking air into his lungs, that's why he was a Veiled Tenno in the first place. His Vazarin focus is unparalleled as far as I know. You could ask him now!" (edited)
Disruptis - Disruptis 09-Apr-22 10:58 PM
~The Inaros froze in place upon hearing the communication, then whirled around with a hand on his holstered Pyrana to face Muro.~ Lupin: "Hydroid!" he called back through comms, "your name is Muro am I correct? What is the situation down below? I have met resistance in attempting to leave this facility." (edited)
EscortAlpha - Chegar & Svytoj 11-Apr-22 03:33 AM
CHEGAR The Vauban was quietly whistling with his parazon jammed into the vehicle controls. Slowly, he was learning what systems still worked, and what would need further repairs. So far, it seemed like the damage was isolated to hardware, not software. "Hey, I'm not one to interrupted conversations of the medical OR the metaphysical, but if any of you start seeing sparks coming from anything, I'll need to know immediately." He called out to the rest of the crew inside the sub.
Nor_Urzak - Muro/Aurelia 11-Apr-22 01:19 PM
Muro: "So reinforcements are already here." The Hydroid grumbled audibly before briefing Lupin. "Yeah, that's me. They're preparing to head down and deal with the big Sentient down there, but they need their Archwings to make the trip. I'm here to get'em." He looked the Inaros up and down, his hand still in easy reach of his weapon. "Tell me what we're up against with this resistance."
Disruptis - Disruptis 11-Apr-22 11:02 PM
Lupin: "Two small drop ships came, similar to the one I stowed away on. I sunk them before they reached land with those. They were not an issue," Lupin replied, throwing an arm in the direction of the wreck jammed into the entrance. Two giant laser barrels had been dismounted from what used to be the ship and pointed to the sky in the opposite direction. It was a hack job, but it looked like it worked. "I encountered a larger problem however. I can not contact my ship or anything off-world. I attempted to boost my communications using this antenna," he continued, gesturing towards the large cylinder he was propping up, "but this is not doing anything."
leirynot - Isa 12-Apr-22 08:02 PM
Isa "Ah. Perhaps I should have him take a look then." She climbed out of the sub now and relieved Dominus of the grattler to start affixing it to the sub and connecting up her controls.
Disruptis - Disruptis 13-Apr-22 06:15 PM
Disruptis: Disruptis kept a wide eye on the ship as he finished his welds, looking for outstanding issues. "Did I ever ask you what void ship you were powered up on Chegar?" He called out, "I'm from the first one – the Zariman – I just didn't really like their fashion." (edited)
Kelimnac - Dominus 14-Apr-22 10:57 AM
DOMINUS As he helped Isa set the Grattler in place, Dominus listened intently. More for himself than in response, he spoke up. "One of the few things I can remember is that I was on the Zariman too. I've always wondered if there was a complete manifest of the ship somewhere. With that information I could maybe learn about who I actually am." He left Isa to the hard part of actually connecting the weapon to the control systems, instead heading over to an open crate that his Carrier had been hard at work supplying with ammunition. His own weapons were all stocked, but specifically he was looking for heavy weapon ammo, to give their explosive autogun the fuel it needed when they set off. Eventually he would pick up the entire crate and lug it over to the side of the submarine.
Nor_Urzak - Muro/Aurelia 14-Apr-22 02:54 PM
Muro: This was bad. A couple goon squads were one thing, but jamming of long distance comms? That was a really bad sign. Muro quickly started trying to summon his comrade's archwings. It was a long shot, but maybe he'd luck out. Otherwise... "Then Grineer high command has figured out something's up here." The Hydroid remarked grimly as he tried to call down the archwings. "And since that group you took down won't be reporting back, I'd bet the next group they send is going to be a bit beefier." Muro shook his head in frustration. "That's assuming they don't decide to just nuke us from orbit, of course." His head whipped towards Lupin as an idea sparked in his mind. "Wait, were those Grineer able to report back before you got them?"
EscortAlpha - Chegar & Svytoj 16-Apr-22 12:31 AM
CHEGAR "I'm still trying to figure that part out." Chegar said, still chipping away at the control architecture of the sub, wrist twitching slightly with each impulse through the parazon. "Some days, it's the Zariman; clear as crystal. Others, some vessel call the Chiatezan. Still others, it's the Pryllasa-" The console sparked suddenly, Chegar swearing under his as he worked to keep his parazon from being ejected from the console. "~well there's the first fault..." He muttered, immediately redoubling his efforts. "But I can't seem to sort it out; as if all three memories have become overlaid or grafted to each-other. Very confusing." He continued, trying to keep his thoughts in order. (edited)
Disruptis - Disruptis 17-Apr-22 09:44 PM
Disruptis: "The muck?" Disruptis interjected, "that's weird. Does anyone still have proper memories other than Isa and I?" The Limbo straightened up, remembering something about his own long-lived past. "Oh, well just Isa… man I really owned myself with that one." He slapped a palm over his head and went back to work. "Okay well we might be Zariman buddies then? What focus schools did you guys train in? Mine's Naramon, but that might be obvious."
Disruptis - Disruptis 17-Apr-22 09:55 PM
~Everyone's archwing deployments timed out as the interference choked them out, save for one. Within a couple moments a bulky archwing set shot out of the water and threw itself on their platform. The diving suit attachment seemed to indicate that it was Isa's, which was already waiting nearby.~ Lupin: Lupin shrugged. "I sank them over the sea before they arrived. None escaped. I am reasonably certain they do not hold the technology to send a message through this interference if I fail to do so with this." The Inaros reconnected a series of power cords, sending arcs of electricity through the antenna. "If this does not work by the time I perceive the next one, I will hijack it and attempt to escape the area of effect."
Kelimnac - Dominus 18-Apr-22 04:44 PM
DOMINUS "Naramon here, too. Maybe there's a correlation between Naramon students and callsigns starting with D...Heh. Well, I'd believe that if it wasn't partially my Cephalon's idea to call me Dominus." His next job was to affix a supply of grenades to feed out of the submarine and to a small launcher. A poor man's depth charge, but it would do for area control. The Carrier would have to do the work of actually providing the grenades, to which Dominus was also stowing a few large boxes of extra scrap for the drone to break down and turn into ammunition for their weapons. "It was always a guess of mine that maybe our former overlords didn't like some of my memories, so they purged them. But maybe they went too far and got rid of less-important memories too. Like the people I was on the Zariman with. My family in particular."
EscortAlpha - Chegar & Svytoj 20-Apr-22 09:54 AM
CHEGAR "Vazarin." Chegar said plainly, still testing the interface. "Though, given our last bout of combat, I'm quite certain that's obvious." The console sparked sparked briefly, and Chegar quickly ejected the parazon as to inspect the damage. "There's our first electrical fault." He remarked. "That's going to need some solder, and a bit of insolation." He marked down the detail and reinserted the parazon, eager to continue.
Nor_Urzak - Muro/Aurelia 20-Apr-22 09:55 AM
Muro: Muro stared at the Archwing as lay on the platform like an ungainly fish. Well, at least he wouldn't be going back empty-handed. "Fine. If you can get free, try and figure out what's jamming comms. I won't be able to talk to you once I head back down there, but if they're getting ready for an attack, just... Try and buy us some time." Muro strode towards the archwing, picking it up and half dragging it to the platform's edge.
Disruptis - Disruptis 21-Apr-22 08:20 PM
Disruptis: Disruptis continued to work as he spoke. "Oh, I don't have a callsign. Didn't in the War, either. That's just my name. I don't think I can remember a Tenno I've met that had their memories messed with by the Orokin…" he trailed off, lost in thought for a moment. "...yeah. I don't know what you could've done to deserve that. I've seen some off-the-cuff Tenno get away with some ratchet things before. Hey, maybe someday your past will find you. "
Disruptis - Disruptis 21-Apr-22 08:29 PM
Lupin: "Certainly. I will keep the facility secure from here. The rest of you should dispose of the rising sentients," Lupin sounded off, running a few more tests.
Kelimnac - Dominus 24-Apr-22 01:38 AM
DOMINUS "It'd be nice. Hopefully it's a quiet revelation at the least. I'd hate for my memories to hit me like a Rhino charge." Another crate of scrap loaded, and then it was opening the lid of one more, unveiling a large set of smaller arms, gathered from both armories and the bodies littered through the facility. "Not entirely sure we can rig these for external fire, but if any of them can be, they'd make decent point defense of some sort. Ward off anything outside of an armored shell like what we'll be driving."
EscortAlpha - Chegar & Svytoj 25-Apr-22 09:28 PM
CHEGAR “Well, I think I’ve got a good understanding of the weapon stations architecture.” Chegar stated, looking over at Dominus. “If you want to start installing weapons, we can both begin testing remote firing capabilities. Should be easy enough to lead you to the mounts from here.”
Disruptis - Disruptis 27-Apr-22 04:00 PM
~The Tenno kept repairing and upgrading their machines as Muro made his descent with what he could get. Right as everyone was polishing the last of their work off, the Hydroid rose from the deployment tube.~ Disruptis: Disruptis waved an arm out to Muro as he approached. "Hey! We're almost done here. Did you get em?"
Nor_Urzak - Muro/Aurelia 27-Apr-22 04:06 PM
Muro: The Hydroid trudged up from the depths, carrying Isa's modified archwing over his shoulder. "Sorry guys." he said irritably. "This is all I was able to get. We've got bad news topside. All long range comms are out." He stepped onto the platform with the others, setting the archwing down on the floor. "I hope those things are good to go, because if we're doing this, we need to do it now."
EscortAlpha - Chegar & Svytoj 29-Apr-22 09:58 PM
CHEGAR The Vauban pulled his parazon from the final subs console, marching outside to greet Muro. “I make no guaranties, especially given how savagely the grineer tried to mangle everything” he began “but everything seems to be patched up.” He paused, and chuckled slightly to himself. “I’m actually afraid to see what holds water better; these subs or our plans.”
Kelimnac - Dominus 30-Apr-22 01:35 PM
DOMINUS The Excalibur cursed under his breath, even as he prepped weapons for the dry fire remote tests with Chegar, bringing some smaller firearms in particular that could be easily tossed aside if they didn't function. They could save the more potent weapons for last. "I'm going to really hear it from Intellectus after today, if he's going this long without being able to get in touch. Guess we're making do with what we've got, and we'll have to count on Muro and the archwing-pilot for actually checking the perimeter. Speaking of, have we decided who's operating that? And the sub, for that matter."

Isa "Ideally these subs will not be holding any more water than is in the ballasts. But yes the weapons systems area ready to go." She walked over to her custom archwing to look it over as a final pre-dive check. "I don't particularly care, despite it being my creation... perhaps someone capable of handling the depth here should it fail." She says, glancing toward the hydroid.

Disruptis: "Wait, long range comms are off on surface? What!? The interference has gotta be growing as Ikazu wakes up but why…" Disruptis trailed off, a hand on his chin. "We've been down here for way too long without hearin' from off-world already. Makes me nervous. We should assume we're not gonna even have short range comms down there. We've repaired three ships, which leaves one for each power station. What's the firepower on these subs so far?"
leirynot - Isa 05-May-22 07:57 PM
Isa "Two have been equipped with grattlers and one with an ayunga, all weapons have had enough modifications made that they should be able to fire at this depth. You'll need to lead your targets considerably more than normal though. I could likely attach some smaller weapons, but prioritized giving them something capable of destroying the power stations."
Kelimnac - Dominus 06-May-22 01:29 AM
DOMINUS "Smash-and-dash is the name of the game. We break what we need to, and then we get out. Sticking around to fight for too long is just going to get us all enveloped and killed, especially if the Grineer get any reinforcements out and under the water. So, five of us, and at least one takes an Archwing in for a more personal approach. Isa's hedging the bet on Muro with the Hydroid, which is logical, but if we have five bodies to work with, one person can be kept as backup and try the Archwing. If it starts to have a breakdown, Muro recovers them and gets them aboard one of the submarines. If it works fine, we have extra manpower in the field, and someone who can respond to any developments." Hearing the rather satisfying click-click of dry firing weapons, Dominus nods to Chegar and pushes to his feet. "I'll volunteer for it. My Latron has enough force to shoot through water without the bullet slowing down enough to matter, and my other weapons are perfectly effective underwater. I should be able to use the Exalted Blade, too, if I only draw from my own reserves."
Nor_Urzak - Muro/Aurelia 06-May-22 02:02 PM
Muro: "All due respect Isa, I think I'll go without the diving suit. I don't need it, and it would be better to have more than one person outside the subs who can move." Muro strode towards Disruptis. "Yeah, that Inaros is still up there. Can't get any communications out at all." He paused for a moment, considering Dis' theory. "We can't be sure its the Sentients." The hydroid said gravely. " According to that Inaros there's already been a couple ships sniffing around up there. He sunk them, but we're still in a bad spot. Grineer high command has got to know something's going on here now, and thanks to us killing anyone who could radio back, they have no idea what it is. If they think the Sentients they've got down here are behind it, they may just decide to nuke this whole place with us in it." Muro hoisted his Corinth off his back, inspecting the weapon as he talked. "All that to say that Dominus here is right. We do this as quick as we can, then we get the hell out. You guys get around to making any charges for my Corinth? They'll do a lot better out there than pellets."
Disruptis - Disruptis 06-May-22 04:10 PM
Disruptis: Disruptis drew in a deep breath, raising his arms to push into the discussion. "Alright everyone. Two hours left minus a thirty minute drive. Three operable deep-sea subs with heavy weaponry. Three power stations to hit, a Mother class sentient to send back to sleep, and possibly a lot of fragments between us and our goal. Let's talk plans, shall we?"
