Disruptis:
Disruptis blinked at both of their responses. “Well muck, the odds of that happening were supposed to be very slim. I…” he gave a dry, incredulous laugh. “Well that’s gonna make this a little harder to explain. Just my luck too. Where to begin?”
Disruptis fully entrusted his weight to the table, taking the time to gaze into the air for a couple seconds. “So, first of all, Kapak. Don’t worry about what you saw. I’ll talk about that in a bit, but just know that isn’t from around here. Well, that is, if I do in fact know what you are referring to. Second, Isa. Actually truth be told, Kawamo isn’t exactly safe enough for comfort. The whole area sits inside an overlap of two flying beasts’ territories. On one hand you have the akuul, a type of...oh what’s the word...” he snapped his fingers repeatedly as shuffled through his memory, “chiroptera. Giant ones, powerful too. They hunt in small packs using echolocation to sweep the air for munchies. On the other hand, you’ve got the feezabii. Hardy avians who are even bigger and stronger than the akuul. They don’t usually hunt together, but if something attacks even one then you can bet your left somatic circuits that they’re all gonna swarm. Both these parties can go toe-to-toe with Tusk Bolkors. They both protect Kawamo from flying grineer, and keep it safe by gobbling up most large fish that wander down from the lake upriver.
Disruptis threw his arms open into a shrugging gesture. “Now, you’d think that they would wipe out the villagers too, but that’s strangely not the case. They both don’t touch animals on the grassy lands, and just about barely hunt land-bound creatures that aren’t the zillions of worms infesting the dunes. We only have a few theories as to why that is but it’s not something we’ve managed to figure out yet, so we can’t count on it being that way forever.”
